“Fifteen (15) out of thirty-five or 42.86% examinees made it to the Licensure Examination for Criminologists in December 2019. The national passing rate is 38.86%. We give kudos to the fifteen criminologists and to Dean Otelo Dineros (deceased) who gave honor to LSJFI even in his absence due to his ailment and to Joaquin Arevalo (Human Resources Department Head) who religiously made all the preparations of the documents during the opening of BS Criminology. “

This sports team coached by Jerry Rejuso Villaranda, Sr. has made its mark! It already produced a national player who is currently playing for National University in Manila and is joined with the Philippine Taekwondo League (PTL). The successful fighter is Jubilee Briones who hails from Monreal, Masbate but motivated, trained, molded and schooled in San Jacinto, Masbate particularly in Liceo de San Jacinto. In one of the national events, Jubilee bagged a championship victory.

Jerry’s group continues to earn a reputation as an accomplishing, disciplined, respected and award-prospective sports buff. His young student-members claimed how the team has changed their outlook and attitude in life. Some of them confided they were previously into vices and led a rude lifestyle but got changed into disciplined and keen individuals. They asserted that their head coach instills values in them that they continue to observe so they would keep themselves as role models among the youth.

A Light Mood with Young Teachers

  • V-Day Mood
  • V-Day Mood 2

Two days into my early interaction with the campus people, I was greeted with amiable faces. My first day was a photo-shooting with my first picks of campus models. They were not shy. They appear on this site at the homepage as come-on greeters. Helping me out were two male teachers who happened to be proficient in photography, Sirs Ronald Gebilaguin and Cleford Duran.

My second day happened on the campus Valentine’s Day activities. The mood was light and happy. The organizers were sparking off fondness on their auras thanks to Maams Beverly Barrun and Jonah Marie Agao.

I will have an easy time doing my job as the social media strategist of LSJFI as I have these affectionate mediums — the confident campus models, the painstaking photography-proficient teachers, and the cooperative young teachers.

The Liceo De San Jacinto Foundation (LSJFI) has completed its facilities and equipment as required by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) as it offered BS Criminology since 2014. As the facilities are completed and the equipment is acquired, the criminology laboratory of LSJFI  becomes the most modern in the Bicol region. A CHED team conducted an ocular inspection of the facilities and equipment at the LSJFI campus in January 2014 preparatory to the issuance of the permit to open and offer the new course.

The pictures show some of the physical facilities within the criminology department laboratory.

Goodbye Otelo! — College of Criminology Dean

I learned about his passing away just now at Dubai International Airport as I await my connecting flight to Milan, Italy. Otelo contributed in no small measure to the establishment of the College of Criminology, which he led as its first dean, at Liceo De San Jacinto Foundation Inc. As such, he has shepherded the first two batches of graduates who took the board exams for criminologists. They symbolize the hard work and perseverance that Otelo invested in LSJFI’s vision of making the school the center of criminal justice education in Masbate.

You have led the way, Otelo. Your successor should take the cue.

Goodbye and rest peacefully in the bosom of the Lord, Dean Dineros.
