The chairman of the board of trustees of Liceo de San Jacinto Foundation, Incorporated (LSJFI), Dr. Francisco  Altarejos, who is the mayor of San Jacinto, Masbate, and the school president Dr. Monina Moya spearheaded the groundbreaking of the LSJFI building for the school for midwifery. Joining them were Mrs. Melina Bartolay, LSJFI Vice President for Administration and Academic Affairs, Mr. Renato Letada, LSJFI Vice President for Finance, Mr. Noe Esparrago, LSJFI Chief of Staff, Mr. Manuel Marion Alminana, LSJFI General Services Specialist and architectural consultants Mr. Rhodiebert Nuevo and Marl Gueta. Other school officials and Sangguniang Bayan members of San Jacinto were present during the groundbreaking.

Observers during the occasion who are mostly students were excited for the opening of the school for midwifery  that they dreamed for a long time now to exist in Ticao, Masbate.

The High School Department of Liceo de San Jacinto Foundation, Incorporated celebrated the Filipino Values Month last November 29, 2022 at the school quadrangle with the theme, “Magandang Kaugaliang Filipino: Isabuhay at Pagyamanin Tungo sa Matiwasay at Maunlad na Pamumuhay.”

The following were the contests handled and the corresponding winners:

Mrs. Caridad A. Lumberio, who hails from San Jacinto, Masbate, assumed post last August, 2022 as the Principal of Elementary School, Junior High School and Senior High School of Liceo de San Jacinto, Foundation, Incorporated (LSJFI).

Her first headship in her teaching profession was being a High School Head Teacher 3 in the English Department of San Jacinto National High School in San Jacinto, Masbate in 1988. After this, she became the School Head of San Pablo National High School in Mandaon, Masbate then transferred as Principal to Burgos National High School in Lagundi, Batuan, Masbate. Eventually, in 2013, she took a position as the High School Principal of Monreal National High School in Monreal, Masbate until she retired in 2016.

The LSJFI administration is optimistic of the services of Mrs. Lumberio.

The student population of Liceo de San Jacinto Foundation, Incorporated (LSJFI) has swelled tremendously over the pre-pandemic period through the present. Mr. Noe C. Esparrago, LSJFI Chief of Staff, noted this as he addressed the new students during the orientation day gathering all academic year 2022-2023 college enrollees last October 12, 2022 at Plaza Añonuevo in San Jacinto, Masbate.

The tentative figure comes around 3,200, with the college making up the 2,400 and the pre-school, elementary and high school constituting over 800. The figures are not final because, according to the school registrar, the enrolment process this semester continues.

Mr. Esparrago came out with a comparison of 1,800 enrolled in 2018, 2,600 during the pandemic period and 3,200 today. “We (the school) are getting bigger and bigger,” enthused Esparrago thus drawing positive feedback and expectations from the audience and other observers.

Consistently bringing home the bacon from several tournaments in the past and the present, the Taekwondo Team of Liceo de San Jacinto Foundation, Incorportated (LSJFI), this year, was declared the overall champion in the 2022 Taekwondo Training Development and Festival last October 1, 2022 in Baleno, Masbate sponsored by the Department of Education (DepEd).

The team bested most of the matchup categories:  Overall Champion, Kyorugi Competition (Secondary, Boys), Liceo de San Jacinto Foundation, Inc.; Overall Champion, Kyorugi Competition Female Division, Liceo de San Jacinto Foundation, Inc.; Overall Champion, Kyorugi Senior Division, Liceo de San Jacinto Foundation, Inc.; Gold Finweight Category (Senior), Kyorugi Competition Female Division, Marites P. Bartolay; Gold Lightweight Category (Senior), Kyorugi Competition Female Division, Maria Ann B. Fernandez;  Gold Finweight Category (Senior), Kyorugi Competition Male Division, Christopher Almiñe;  Gold Welterweight Category (Senior), Kyorugi Competition Male Division, John Mark Almoradie; Gold Featherweight Category (Secondary), Kyorugi Competition Male Division, Niño M. Anonuevo; Bronze Bantamweight Category (Secondary), Kyorugi Competition Male Division, Mike D. Bartolay; Gold Bantamweight Category, Kyorugi Competition Female Division, Trixie V. Villamor; Gold Flyweight Category (Secondary), Kyorugi Competition Male Division, Angelo D. Bartolay; Gold Openweight Category (Senior), Kyorugi Competition Female Division, Colin Tanada.; and Silver Lightweight Category (Senior), Kyorugi Competition Female Division, Jerralyn Almosara.

The LSJFI administration is very proud of this team and congratulates it especially its head coach Jerry Villaranda Sr.

The College Class of 2022 of Liceo de San Jacinto Foundation, Incorporated (LSJFI) wrapped up the school’s 19th commencement exercises last September 8, 2022 at Plaza Añonuevo in San Jacinto, Masbate with the theme “Resilient Graduates: Striving and excelling as Shapers of a Post-pandemic Future.”

The keynote speaker of the affair was the top third in the regional level of the Board Licensure Examination for Public Teachers (BLEPT) 2018, Mr. Aljon L. Espenilla, LSJFI Registrar.

Other personalities who graced the occasion were Hon. Leny A. Arcenas, Vice Mayor of San Jacinto, Masbate, Dr. Monina S. Moya, LSJFI President, Mrs. Melina G. Bartolay, LSJFI Vice President for Academic Affairs and Administration, Mr. Noe C. Esparrago, LSJFI Vice President for Human Resources, Mr. Renato M. Letada, LSJFI Vice President for Finance, and other school officials.

The school turned out 329 graduates from Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (41), Bachelor of Science in Criminology (51), Bachelor of Secondary Education (132) and Bachelor of Elementary Education (105).

In his speech, Mr. Espenilla motivated the graduates, the students and the parents, reassuring that “passing the exam will be on your doorstep if God sees you are worthy of it.” 

The affair was facilitated by Faustus Caesar Bagobe, Dothy Española, Carmina Cantonjos, Noe Esparrago, Noelma Natural, Jose Crisedel Moya and Elna Lupoz.

Today, August 31, 2022, a flux of Junior High School students of Liceo de San Jacinto are getting their shots of Covid protection vaccines at the Clemente Building of the school with the representatives of the Rural Health Unit of San Jacinto, Masbate administering the vaccination. The whole-day activity is being regulated by the school’s Safety Office and Student Affairs Services Office headed by Manuel Capellan and Faustus Caesar Bagobe, respectively.

The students and their parents are encouraged to fully participate.

NOTE: Enrollee/s who was/were not able to enroll on the scheduled dates above for any valid reasons, i. e., financially incapacitated, sick, being quarantined simultaneous with the scheduled dates above due to health protocols, not physically around due to emergencies or was/were not accommodated on the scheduled dates due to flux of enrollees, may still enroll on other scheduled dates together with other scheduled enrollees.
